These manufacturer-documented examples show the two approaches. Matching purchase options are listed below for the verified models. Neither is a universal fit, and we have not performed hands-on testing.

Keep a compatible AC-motor fan
A module for a compatible existing fan, with separate fan-speed and light-dimming control. It is a component that sits inside the canopy, not a complete ceiling fan.

What your setup needs
- A compatible Matter controller and Thread border router. Inovelli currently says Amazon Echo is not supported for this module because of the Matter Fan profile.
- Have an electrician confirm the motor, wiring, neutral requirements and canopy fit against the current VTM36 documentation. Do not assume compatibility with a fan’s built-in receiver.
Check before choosing
Not for DC-motor fans or 240 V supplies. Light-load limits are separate: 300 W incandescent, 150 W LED or 100 W CFL. App support for independent controls varies.

Replace the whole fixture
A complete 52-inch, five-blade fan with a light and six-speed DC motor. The manufacturer-linked manual identifies the matte-black CF5 as model LFL00150; the store SKU is LK-CF5-NA-1-AZ.

What your setup needs
- A compatible Matter controller and your platform’s app. The controller illustrated in the manufacturer image is separate from the fan.
- A suitable fan-rated ceiling support and professional electrical installation. Use a standard on/off wall switch; the manual excludes dimmers and variable-speed wall controllers.
Check before choosing
Do not add an AC-fan retrofit controller to this DC fan. AiDot lighting scenes and multi-zone effects are separate from the functions exposed in your Matter app. Verify the functions you need before choosing.
Amazon model verified
Black, 52-inch LFL00150: one fan with light kit, mounting hardware, remote and manual. Remote batteries (2 AAA) and a Matter controller are separate. Check seller, condition and delivery at Amazon.

Leviton D24SF
Leviton’s D24SF-1BW documentation describes a four-speed Wi-Fi controller: 120 V AC / 60 Hz, neutral required, 1.5 A fan load, for compatible pull-chain ceiling fans without electronic controls. It does not control a fan light or exhaust fan.
Amazon identifies D24SF-1RW. We have not established that 1RW and 1BW are equivalent. CSA lists D24SF firmware 2.3.10, but current manufacturer support information does not clearly confirm a Matter update for that retail unit. Ask Leviton to confirm the suffix and update before choosing it for Matter.

Consciot 45-inch CFL00174
The existing Amazon listing identifies a black 45-inch fan, model CFL00174, part CFL001-CF2014-RGBTW, one unit. That establishes the listing’s identity, not every installation requirement or Matter function.
We have not verified a manufacturer installation manual for this exact retail variant. Confirm voltage, motor, mounting and Matter fan/light controls. A CSA family record for another variant is not proof for this listing. Other sizes and non-Matter Consciot fans are separate products.

Govee 52-inch H1310
Govee offers a 52-inch fan with lighting, but we have not established the exact Matter fan functions needed to recommend it here. A general Matter lighting FAQ does not confirm fan-speed control.
Confirm the H1310’s fan-speed and light controls with Govee for your Matter platform before choosing. Features can differ between Govee models and firmware versions.
Matter ceiling fan FAQ
Can I make any existing ceiling fan work with Matter?
No. A retrofit control must match the motor, supply voltage, load, wiring and existing electronics. Inovelli VTM36 is for compatible 120 V AC-motor fans, not DC motors. A fan with an integrated receiver may need a different solution. Have the manufacturer and an electrician confirm the fit.
Is a smart light dimmer a fan-speed controller?
No. A lighting dimmer is not a substitute for a motor-rated fan controller. Linkind CF5 uses its own DC motor control and excludes dimmers and variable-speed wall controllers. Follow the exact fan and controller manuals.
Do Matter fans need a hub?
Inovelli VTM36 uses Thread and needs a compatible Matter controller and Thread border router. Linkind CF5 uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and its manual requires a Matter controller. Wi-Fi does not automatically mean that no controller is needed. Follow your platform’s requirements.
Will every fan and light function work in every Matter app?
No. Device types, fan speeds, light controls, scenes and effects vary by platform and firmware. Inovelli currently excludes Amazon Echo for this module because of Matter Fan profile support. Manufacturer-app features are not proof of equivalent Matter features.
Does a CSA firmware entry prove a retail unit supports Matter today?
No. Certification can identify a particular firmware and hardware variant. It does not establish the firmware on a retail unit or whether an update is available to that buyer. Confirm the exact model, region and update path, especially for Leviton D24SF.
